The a�ejo, rested for one year in American oak barrels, is the best of the Antiguo line. Deep gold, almost bronze, in the glass, it boasts an aroma of smoky agave, with notes of chocolate and caramel. This tequila is thicker and oilier than the blanco and reposado, but is still light bodied. It has the same distinct, peppery agave flavor inherent in the younger incarnations. The a�ejo, however, offers more depth, with flavors of butterscotch, vanilla, and a little oak that finishes nicely with an aftertaste of cinnamon and spearmint.
